Nakamura Stainless, located in Pulau Ujong, Singapore, is a well-known maker and supplier of high-quality stainless steel products, including stainless steel 348 and 348H forged fittings. These fittings are designed for high-temperature and corrosive environments. They offer excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion and thermal fatigue. Stainless steel 348 and its high-carbon variant, 348H, are stabilized with niobium. This gives them improved creep strength and durability when exposed to heat for long periods. Nakamura Stainless ensures precise forging and strict quality control, delivering reliable fittings for critical applications in power plants, petrochemical industries, and heat exchanger systems.
Stainless steel 348/348H forged fittings are made from an austenitic stainless steel alloy that contains about 17 to 19% chromium, 9 to 13% nickel, and niobium (columbium) for stabilization. The 348H grade has a higher carbon content, which enhances high-temperature strength and creep resistance. These fittings have tensile strengths from 550 to 750 megapascals and maintain their mechanical integrity at temperatures above 800°C. Niobium stabilizes the alloy, preventing carbide precipitation during welding or thermal cycling. This ensures excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion and oxidation in challenging environments.
