Stainless Steel 347 Stud Bolts are made from an austenitic stainless steel alloy that is stabilized with niobium (columbium). This alloy contains about 17 to 19% chromium and 9 to 13% nickel. The stabilization process prevents sensitization and provides strong resistance to intergranular corrosion, especially after welding. With a tensile strength of about 515 to 720 MPa and a yield strength close to 205 MPa, SS 347 offers good mechanical strength and toughness. It also maintains its corrosion resistance and mechanical integrity at high temperatures, making it suitable for difficult operating conditions. The alloy is known for its good weldability and formability.
