AWS Class ER308LSi contains 18–21% chromium, 9–11% nickel, and higher silicon (0.8–1.2%) compared to standard ER308L, with carbon ≤0.03%. The extra silicon improves wetting and bead smoothness, enhancing weld appearance and reducing spatter. Weld deposits provide tensile strength of around 550 MPa and elongation of 30–35%, maintaining good toughness and ductility. They also offer excellent corrosion resistance in mild chemical and marine environments.
