AWS Class ER347 contains 18–20% chromium, 9–11% nickel, and controlled amounts of niobium to prevent carbide formation. Weld deposits provide tensile strength of about 570 MPa with elongation of 30–35%, maintaining toughness and ductility under high stress. They also resist oxidation and scaling at elevated temperatures, which makes them suitable for prolonged thermal service.
