Stainless Steel XM19 nuts consist of nitrogen-strengthened austenitic stainless steel containing about 20–23% chromium, 11–13% nickel, 4–6% manganese, and 1.5–3% molybdenum along with nitrogen added for strength. This alloy provides double the 316 stainless steel’s yield strength with outstanding corrosion resistance, including enhanced crevice and pitting corrosion resistance. Mechanically, XM19 provides a yield strength of approximately 380–690 MPa and tensile strength of up to 1000 MPa with good impact resistance and ductility. It possesses good mechanical properties in both cryogenic and high-temperature conditions, rendering it perfectly suited for critical fasteners applications.
