Stainless steel 309S pipe fittings usually contain 23 to 25% chromium and 12 to 15% nickel, with low carbon content to stop carbide precipitation during welding. These fittings show tensile strength between 520 and 750 megapascals and keep their mechanical integrity at temperatures up to 1150°C. The alloy’s high chromium and nickel content gives it superior resistance to oxidation, corrosion, and thermal damage in harsh environments.
