The Stainless Steel 440C Sheets and Plates are primarily made up of iron, chromium (16–18%), carbon (0.95–1.20%), molybdenum, and a few trace elements. This type of martensitic stainless steel boasts very high hardness, strong corrosion resistance, and excellent wear resistance when properly heat treated. In terms of mechanics, 440C delivers a tensile strength of about 760 MPa and impressive edge retention, along with good compressive strength for handling heavy loads. However, its toughness is moderate compared to softer stainless grades, and its performance shines when hardened and tempered, ensuring it lasts in demanding environments.
