Nakamura Stainless, located in Pulau Ujong, Singapore, provides AWS Class E317L-16 Electrodes that offer excellent corrosion resistance in tough environments. These low-carbon electrodes are designed to minimize carbide precipitation, which helps maintain outstanding intergranular corrosion resistance. They have great weldability, stable arcs, and strong mechanical properties, making them popular in industries where durability and resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion are necessary. Nakamura Stainless meets international standards, delivering high-quality electrodes suitable for chemical processing, pulp and paper production, and marine applications. The E317L-16 is a favored option for challenging stainless steel welding projects.
AWS Class E317L-16 Electrodes contain 18-20% chromium, 12-14% nickel, and 3-4% molybdenum, with iron as the remainder. Their low carbon content (maximum 0.04%) reduces the risk of carbide precipitation during welding, which helps maintain corrosion resistance. They offer tensile strength of around 550-580 MPa and elongation of 30-35%. The addition of molybdenum improves resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments. These electrodes also show good toughness and ductility, making them suitable for welding austenitic stainless steels exposed to harsh chemicals and high-stress conditions.
